Sundrops Centre for Child Development At Clements Centre Society in Duncan, B.C. has a temporary 21 hour per week for 6 month position available for a physiotherapist in the Early Intervention/School Age Therapy Program. This position may be extended beyond 6 months. The successful candidate will work with children with a wide range of needs from birth to 18 years of age. This position may be extended. The PT administers assessments and provides direct intervention and consultation services to children and families. Primary approaches can include NDT, acute treatment, and orthopedics. The PT is responsible for sharing the management of the PT waitlist with colleagues, booking appointments, writing progress notes and reports, setting goals with families and maintaining client files using NucleusLabs data management. This position is part of an multidisciplinary team that include: Occupational therapy, Speech and Language pathologists, Infant Development and Supported Child Development and Family Navigator. Client visits can occur at Sundrops CDC, in the family home, community settings and the school. Travel throughout the Cowichan Valley is required and applicant must have a drivers license and vehicle.
A Bachelor or Master degree in Physical Therapy and current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of B.C. is required. Pediatric experience is preferred. Certification in extra training in the areas of NDT and orthopedics is an asset. Direct program delivery in the community social services sector with a knowledge of community based programs and related provincial and community support services is preferred.
