Reach Child and Youth Development Society has a temporary, full time (35 hours per week) position available for a physiotherapist (PT) in the Early Intervention (EI) Therapies Program. The successful candidate will work with children with varying needs, from birth to 6 years of age, and their families. This position includes benefits and flexible hours. Job Summary: The PT performs assessments and provides direct intervention and consultation services to children and families. Primary approaches can include NDT, acute treatment, and orthopedics. This is a sole charge position; the PT is responsible for managing the PT waitlist, booking appointments, writing assessment reports, writing progress notes, writing discharge reports, setting goals, and maintaining client files. A shared therapy assistant is also available. The PT works on a multi-disciplinary team and may liaise with community professionals and staff from other Reach programs such as the Infant Development Program, Supported Child Development Program, Reach Developmental Preschools, Reach Occupational Therapists, and Reach Speech-Language Pathologists. Client visits can occur at Reach, families’ homes, preschool and/or community settings. Travel is required in the City of Delta, with office space in South Delta and North Delta.Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience: A bachelors or masters degree in Physical Therapy and current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of B.C. is required. Minimum 2 years experience as a Physical Therapist; previous pediatric work experience is preferred. Certification in extra training in the areas of NDT and orthopaedics is an asset. Direct program delivery experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of community-based programs and related provincial and community support service systems is preferred.
