Job Summary:
Our Speech and Language Pathologist functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing speech
language pathology services to the pediatric caseload of children with special needs or at risk for delays in
development. The Therapist’s role with children and families is one of facilitation and prevention using his/her specialized skills and knowledge to assist the child in developing to their maximum potential. The position works as a member of a family-centered, interdisciplinary team providing therapy and support services for children and their families. The duties of this position follow the guidelines of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC [CSHHPBC]. This position is located at our Vanderhoof community-based office and provides outreach to the surrounding communities of Fort St. James and Fraser Lake.
Our Team:
Our new Speech and Language Pathologist will join our current two Speech and Language Pathologists, within our organization's Pediatric Therapy Network, for peer support and individual/team mentorship. Also within our Pediatric Therapy Network, you will have access to professional development opportunities, resource development through sharing of specialized equipment libraries and work with specialized therapeutic teams to serve across many communities of our service delivery area (communities of the Nechako Lakes, Bulkley Valley,Upper Skeena). As part of the Vanderhoof based team, you will work in liaison with a Therapy Assistant and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to aide with therapy delivery and resource development.
