We’re looking for a new Occupational Therapist to join our Autism Treatment team! Permanent Part time: 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week) Location: Penticton-with some travel to our outlying communities. Use of personal vehicle required. Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 8:30 – 4:30 with some flexibility in hours. Wage & Benefits: Wage range $31.83-$39.70 in accordance with the HSA Agreement Paramedical Subsector Closing Date: April 20, 2017 This is Us The OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre is a vibrant, non-for-profit organization with a long history of providing clinical therapy and support services to children with a variety of developmental challenges. Our collaborative and integrated team includes; physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, early childhood educators, family support workers and psychologists. We work in family centered, child focused environment and enjoy close partnerships with other community agencies. We are continuously evolving to incorporate current best practices of intervention. This role will provide the opportunity to work with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and will require that our Centre’s vision and values be represented with spirit and professionalism. Children are busy and fast paced – so is our team. The team navigates their way with enthusiasm, problem-solving skills and humour. We are flexible, curious and creative, and able to multi-task in our ever-evolving work in pediatrics. This is You As a part of our multidisciplinary Autism treatment team, the successful candidate will provide consultation, program planning, and follow up for children with a diagnosis of autism. We seek a clinician who believes in sharing knowledge and coaching staff to help them bring out the best in themselves and the children they work with. Partnering with families requires empathy, communication skill and experience to be able to help parents learn how to best support their children. Adaptability is important because every week of work will be different. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES ¥ Ability to provide professional references ¥ Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists ¥ Member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of BC ¥ Registered or eligible for registration on the RASP ¥ Experience with early intervention Autism treatment programs ¥ Experience with Applied Behavioural Analysis ¥ Ability to provide an acceptable Criminal Record Check ¥ Valid driver’s license.
