Other Incentives: This position is responsible for the coordination and management of the Physiotherapy Department, providing clinical supervision to staff therapists, students and assistants, and all aspects of caseload management by utilizing clinically accepted procedures to assess, plan and carry out physiotherapy programs either directly or through training caregivers and community to reach each client’s maximum potential. This position reports to the Program Director. Please refer to the NCDCS Physiotherapist Department Leader job description for further information • Graduate from a university program in physiotherapy recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) with eligibility for membership in that organization • Eligible for registration in Canadian Physiotherapy Association. • Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of B.C. • 5 years’ Pediatric experience or training preferred • 2 years in a physiotherapy supervision capacity • Familiarity and/or experience in working with a family centered, collaborative service model. Job Description:
As Department Leader and staff Physiotherapist you will practice in a multidisciplinary team setting providing service to clients aged birth to 19 years in a variety of locations including the NCDC, homes, schools, daycares and community facilities. Your caseload will include clients with a variety of condition that may include neurological or orthopedic and developmental concerns. The Nanaimo CDC operates under a family centered model of service, experience with this type of service model would be an asset. Duties associated with this position include: Direct and indirect service to clients, and Supervision of the team, clinical guidance and support. You will have a diverse, manageable caseload as part of a dynamic and supportive organization. Strong mentoring and in-house clinical education opportunities are available. Qualifications: A degree in Physiotherapy, active registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC, a current first aid certificate that includes CPR, a satisfactory Criminal Records Reference Check, a valid driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance, recent pediatric experience preferred. Supervisory experience considered an asset.
