Are you interested in developing your skills with upper extremity splinting?
TOPIC: In this session we will discuss and practice techniques for splinting of the thumb. We will review anatomy of the thumb, basic splinting principles, and design options for both thermoplastic and neoprene splints to consider in meeting the unique needs of individual patients. Bring your questions and clinical cases for discussion. You will have the opportunity to mold hand based thumb splints, with therapists experienced in splinting on hand to help.
COST: Please bring $20. cash to cover the cost of materials. We will supply all materials, but if you have a material you would like to play with, bring it along.
OBJECTIVE: Our goals are to help you build confidence in using splinting as a therapeutic tool and to help us learn how we can support your ongoing learning needs related to splinting.
