The Center on Knowledge Translation for Disability and Rehabilitation Research Knowledge Translation (KT) Conference 2024

October 14 @ 8:00 am - October 18 @ 5:00 pm PDT

This year’s virtual conference theme is Disability Inclusion, Intersectionality, and Knowledge Translation, and will take place entirely online October 14, 16, and 18, 2024, 1–4 p.m. (Eastern Time), each day.

There is no charge to submit, present, or attend.

Please consider sharing your experience and submitting to present. The submission deadline is May 3, 2024, 12 midnight ET.

This year’s programming will focus on how to ensure full and equitable inclusion in KT of people with disabilities from a wide range of disabilities. Let’s also discuss how KT activities can address intersections of disability with and among gender/sexual orientation, racial/ethnic identity, socioeconomic background, rurality, religion and/or national origin. Inclusive strategies to promote uptake of findings thoughtfully address users’ perspectives as understood from this intersectional lens.

We welcome examination of any aspect of the full spectrum of research activities, whether focused research project design, implementation, dissemination, interpretation of findings or on strategies to promote uptake of its findings and measuring their impact. Presentations that themselves illustrate possible methods and tools to overcome ableism and privileging of the researcher’s voice are encouraged. What that looks like is including people with disabilities and other intended knowledge users as presenters or that share information in ways other than lecture. Examples could be a chat show, audience participatory approaches, fishbowl conversations, or an arts-based presentation.
