Occupational Therapist - Serving Children 0 - 6 years of age in the South Peace Region of BC
Under the direction of the Director of Early Intervention, the employee will be responsible for the overall delivery of quality services to clients referred to the Agency for occupational therapy.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Graduation from a recognized training program at the Bachelor or equivalent level
- The Therapist is expected to maintain membership in the appropriate national or provincial professional organization
- Experience and advanced training in pediatrics is desired
- The Therapist is expected to maintain and upgrade qualifications through participation in in-service education and advance training on a regular basis
- Valid Emergency First Aid and C.P.R. certification
- Cleared up to date Criminal Records Check on file
- COVID19 Vaccination evidence on file
ABILITIES:
Manage the caseload as a Sole Charge Practitioner. Able to work independently, organize time effectively, provide appropriate direct intervention programs and must demonstrate effective communication
DUTIES: The employee shall:
- be responsible for the provision of assessment, consultation, and/or intervention services in the field of occupational therapy for clients referred
- document all activities by means of written assessments and reports, statistical data, monthly reports
- as a member of the transdisciplinary team ( PT, OT and SLP along with several foundational intervention program such as Infant Development and Behaviour Interventionists), the employee will share professional expertise with peers in order to facilitate the development of comprehensive intervention plans for clients
- participate and facilitate in regular clinic meetings and medical clinics within the Agency as necessary
- participate and facilitate in consultations and meetings with parents, teachers, and outside agencies as necessary
- participate in in-service education, and student and volunteer training programs as required
- travel as necessary to provide intervention programs and/or consultation in the South Peace Region
