Description
Kootenay Kids Society (KKS) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the regular part-time position of Physiotherapist.
The Physiotherapist provides rehabilitation services for children aged 0 - 6 years with functional impairments. Working independently as well as collaboratively within a team, the Physical Therapist applies techniques and strategies, and directs activities related to Physiotherapy therapy to assess children’s current condition and to select and prepare specific home-based or childcare setting treatment programs.
Services are child focused and are provided in the setting that best meets the child’s needs whether at home, in school, on the playground or in the clinic. The Physiotherapist provides direction and support for the child, parents, teachers, and other caregivers.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Be a graduate of a recognized school of Physiotherapy
- Two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Be a registered member of the College of Physiotherapy of British Columbia
- Good computer, organization, time, and management skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Valid criminal record check (completed upon hiring)
- Possess and maintain a valid BC driver’s license and have own reliable vehicle suitable for travel
- Maintain training in basic CPR and first aid skills

Kootenay Kids Society is a multi-service non-profit with a 50-year history of supporting families and young children in the Nelson area. We operate multiple programs with over 50 staff and four locations in Nelson. Funded largely by government contracts, we deliver a wide range of programs and services including licensed childcare, Indigenous family programs, resources for childcare providers, physiotherapy and occupational therapy for young children, parent education programs, and opportunities for families to meet socially and connect with each other. We are unionized through the British Columbia Government and Service Employees’ Union.
