Position Summary: Screens, assesses, diagnoses, plans and carries out therapy and consultation services for clients who have speech and communication impairment disorders.
Summary of Experience requirements
Education & Training: Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from a recognized university, a member in good standing with the BC and Canadian Associations of Speech-language Pathologists.
Experience & Proficiencies
- Understands, commits to, and practices culturally inclusive and trauma informed approaches to all
- Observes clients and administers tests to diagnose the nature of the disorder and evaluate the degree of
- Promote functional skills that contribute to inclusion and engagement in life in ways that are meaningful to the family.
- Identifies, assesses, plans and conducts remedial treatment to correct differing speech and communication impairment
- Plans individual or group therapy for clients with communication
- Provides guidance to other team members to carry out remedial programs to treat clients with speech and communication disorders
- Apply understanding of various functional disorders to provide appropriate support to children and youth
Other requirements:
- Class 5 driver's license, clear driver's abstract and daily access to and use of vehicle
- Comprehensive organizational skills while working with limited supervision
- Understand, demonstrate and maintain professional boundaries with co-workers, clients and other stakeholders
- Clear Criminal Record review
