Description

Job Summary:

The Occupational therapist is a member of an interdisciplinary team which serves children from birth to 19 years of age. The therapist’s role with children, youth and families and caregivers is one of facilitation and prevention using his/her specialized skills and knowledge to assist the child, youth and family in their development in the home and other community settings. The OT also provides assessment, consultation, and program recommendations to families, youth and children. This position will provide outreach to our service delivery areas.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in occupational therapy or Rehabilitation Medicine, or equivalent
  • Registered with the College of Health & Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
  • Eligible for membership in C.A.O.T.
  • Clear criminal record check
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Experience:

  • Experience working directly with children and youth with support needs, their families and other professionals.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to a family-centered, community-based team approach to service delivery.
  • Commitment to cultural safety and diversity in clinical practice.
