Rural and Remote Therapy

Therapists work in rural and remote communities to provide services to children and families.  Check out this video to learn about rural and remote pediatric therapy in B.C.

Funding

The majority of paediatric therapists in BC work in positions funded by the Ministry of Health, First Nations Health Authority, Ministry of Child and Family Development and the Ministry of Education. More information about these funded programs can be found in BC Programs and Indigenous Resources.

Employment regulations
and unions

For general information about Employment Standards and Regulations in British Columbia, including topics such as wages, hours of work, statutory holidays and vacation, refer to the Government of British Columbia Employment Standards.

In many workplaces, therapists are represented by unions that negotiate collective agreements with employers relating to conditions of employment including wages, hours of work and vacation.  You can learn more about unions and collective agreements on the Health Employers Association of BC webpage.
