Description
New grads welcome! Kootenay Family Place is looking for a temporary Occupational Therapist to join our Early Intervention team for a maternity leave position (starting immediately and ending December 31, 2026). The successful candidate will provide consultation, assessment, program planning, parent coaching and intervention in a variety of settings (i.e. clients’ homes, daycares/preschools, and at Kootenay Family Place) to families with children from birth to five years old. This role involves working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team of professionals, dedicated to proving the highest standard of family-centered care in a provincially funded early intervention therapy program. Wages are based on the BCGEU Collective Agreement.
Travel within the Castlegar, Trail, Fruitvale and Rossland area is required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Membership with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Previous pediatric experience with children 0-5 is an asset, particularly working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, regulation challenges, and picky eating
