Description

 

Role: Occupational Therapist

Status: Full-time permanent

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 8:30 – 4:30 with some non-traditional hours to be arranged with employee & employer

Location: Penticton, with some travel to our outlying communities. Use of personal vehicle may be required.

Wage & Benefits: $42.56 - $52.95/ Hr

In accordance with the HSA Collective Agreement Health Science Professionals Subsector including a comprehensive health benefits package including dental and vision.

​The OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre is a vibrant, not-for-profit organization providing clinical intervention and support services to children and youth with a variety of developmental conditions.

We work in a family-centered, child-focused environment and enjoy close community partnerships. We are continuously evolving to reflect best practices of intervention. This role functions as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and will require that our Centre’s vision and values be represented with spirit and professionalism.

​The occupational therapist will provide assessments, consultations, and treatment for children and youth, with physical, cognitive, social/emotional, and/or sensory concerns. The successful candidate will coordinate and collaborate with team members, families, and community partners.

​We are seeking a team member who believes in clinical collaboration and knowledge sharing. Effective partnerships with families require strong communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Heath and Care Professionals of BC.
  • Eligible for membership of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration/supervised registration on the RASP.
  • Experience in pediatric rehabilitation is beneficial; however, other applicants would be strongly considered given the supportive team you would be joining.
  • Ability to assess clients’ needs and identify a range of intervention options.
  • Ability to provide direct intervention and consultation following evidence-based practices for pediatric clients with a variety of developmental concerns.
  • Ability to maintain communication with clients and caregivers to foster optimal progress and establish supportive, collaborative, and therapeutic relationships.
  • Ability to lead or co lead groups with children and or caregivers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain electronic records and write reports.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize caseload and other duties.
  • Ability to work independently and use a cooperative approach.
  • Ability to provide an acceptable criminal record check.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid BC driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn a variety of software platforms, including virtual meeting platforms, cloud-based platforms (Office 365).
  • Performance of other related duties as required.
