Experience Required
2 years of pediatric experience or training preferred. Master's Degree in Occupational therapy. Must be eligible for registration in the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
Annual Continuing Education Budget
FT: $1,000.00 (pro-rated for PT). 30 hours/week; .80 FTE: $800.00.
Other Incentives

About the Comox Valley Child Development Association:

Established in 1974, the Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA) is honoured to reside on the unceded traditional territories of the Pentlatch, E'iksan and K'ómoks First Nations.

The CVCDA is a dynamic, multi-service not-for-profit agency dedicated to supporting children and families with a wide-range of programs for children, youth and young adults with developmental delays and disabilities. Our services have spanned across 47 years in the Comox Valley and we have grown to become one the largest CDA’s on Vancouver Island.

In addition, we are seeking a candidate to work 30 hours/week who will display a strong desire to be a part of the larger community contributing to the health and well being of the families and children of the Comox Valley with an understanding of the unique intricacies of a non-profit organization. Summary of Job Description:

  1. Provide OT assessments through observation, formal and informal testing. Develop goals for the Individualized Service Plan (ISP)/Family Priority Plan (FPP) in cooperation with families.
  2. Provide therapy services on a one-to-one basis, or in small groups, designed to implement the goals identified in the ISP/FPP.
  3. Develop plans and strategies for parents to use at home to reinforce therapy services offered at the centre.
  4. Provide reports and anecdotal notes in child’s integrated file.
  5. Attend team, agency and community meetings as required.

Education, Training and Experience:

Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university is required.  Must be eligible for membership in the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.  Must have previous paediatric experience with children from birth to five years of age.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Report-writing competence, and verbal communication skills that are empathetic and articulate
  • Ability to work within a team concept
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Vehicle that meets ICBC annual inspection standards, and valid Driver’s License
