Description
The Aboriginal Head Start Association of BC (AHSABC) is a non-profit society that works to
deliver quality early childhood programming that nurtures the healthy development and
growth of Indigenous children and their families through the Aboriginal Head Start (AHS)
model. This model sees children up to six years of age and their families access culturally
appropriate early learning and childcare programs. AHS program models are inclusive of
wraparound family supports and offer a care model to support children with diverse
abilities and their families.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with experience/preference working with
infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The OT will work with individual Aboriginal Head Start
childcare programs throughout BC to identify and learn the unique needs of children
within the various programs. Utilizing these insights, the OT will provide direct support
with the children and families as well as supporting the Early Childhood Educators working
within the childcare program to consider environmental adaptations and build on
strategies for support.
