Description

Role: Board Certified Behaviour Analyst  

Reports to: Early Intervention Supervisor (.4) + AIP Supervisor (.6)  

Status: 1.0 FTE - Full-time permanent (37.5 hours per week)  

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday. Shifts between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm with some non-traditional hours to be arranged with the employee and employer  

Location: Penticton, BC – with some travel to outlying communities   

Wage & Benefits: $42.27 - $52.81 for BCBA Registered - RASP Category A in accordance with the HSA Collective Agreement Health Science Professionals including a comprehensive benefits package.  

The OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre is a vibrant, not-for-profit organization providing childcare, clinical intervention and support services to children and youth with a variety of developmental support needs.

This role functions as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and will require that our Centre’s mission, vision and values be represented with spirit and professionalism.  

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Autism Intervention Program Supervisor and the Early Intervention Program Supervisor, the BCBA will be a member of the Autism Intervention Program and the Early Intervention Program clinical multidisciplinary teams, providing services to children, youth and their families. The BCBA assesses skills in cognition, play, safety, and behaviours and provides consultation, intervention and ongoing monitoring of goals and progress in these areas.   The BCBA will be expected to also plan, facilitate, and support group-based therapy programs for children and youth and parents/caregivers.  

 RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 

  • Assess skills in the areas of play, cognition, safety, and behaviours and contribute to the individualized intervention plan. 
  • Provide goals, intervention, and ongoing monitoring of goals and progress in these areas  
  • Ensures data being taken by behaviour interventionists is appropriate and consistent with goals  
  • Provide staff support and training as required  
  • Create, implement and support planning with BIs, clinicians and families 
  • on site, school visits, community outreach and home visits are all an essential part of this role  
  • Collaboration and maintaining positive professional relationships internally and in the community  
  • Other related duties as required  

SKILLS & ABILITIES   

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including behaviour interventionists, speech language, physio and occupational therapists  
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills  
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team  
  • Ability to maintain electronic records and written reports  
  • Ability to coordinate, lead or co-lead educational groups with children, youth and caregivers  
  • Ability to provide feedback & training in a variety of settings  
  • Well-developed planning and organizational skills 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • BCBA Registered - RASP Category A preferred, or B considered 
  • Experience working in a pediatric setting is beneficial  
  • Experience preparing Positive Behavior Support Plans 
  • Experience Supervising professional staff an asset  
  • Valid BC Driver's License   
  • Ability to provide an acceptable CR Check
