Description

If you’re an experienced Physiotherapist looking for a meaningful career move—and a change in lifestyle—Island Health welcomes you. As an essential member of the healthcare team, your expertise plays a critical role in helping patients maintain, restore, and improve their physical function and mobility every day. Join a team that values your knowledge, recognizes the impact of your work, and invests in your professional growth.

What You’ll Do

At Island Health, physiotherapists work across acute care, rehabilitation, neurology, cardiac care, community health, long-term care, and more — supporting patients through complex recovery journeys that require creativity, collaboration, and clinical variety every day. Here, physiotherapists assess, treat, educate and manage patients/clients with compassion and collaboration.

This is a part-time position providing regional services for the majority of time, under the direction of School District #61 (SD61) Coordinator of the Provincial Inclusion Outreach Program (PIOP). You will provide the deliverables for the contract between Island Health and PIOP. You are responsible for assessment, diagnosis, and intervention of a child's physical limitations in the context of the assigned team(s) and a family-centred philosophy in order to promote their social, physical, and psychological well being.

What You Will Need to Apply

  • Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy.
  • Current licensure with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).
  • At least three years of experience working with children who have severe/profound physical, cognitive and communication impairments.
  • At least two years of pediatric experience is preferred.
  • Travel around BC is required for this position.

What We Offer

At Island Health, physiotherapists can build long-term careers supported by competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, a strong pension plan, internal mobility, and opportunities across urban, community, and rural practice settings throughout Vancouver Island.

  • Competitive salary: $45.15 – $56.17 per hour plus applicable shift differentials
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision
  • Municipal Pension Plan with employer contributions
  • 4 weeks paid vacation (prorated to FTE) plus 13 statutory holidays
  • Continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates
  • Eligible for the BC Loan Forgiveness Program

Finding the right role also means finding the right lifestyle. Across Vancouver Island, clinicians are building careers connected to meaningful patient care while also making space for life outside of work — coastline, trails, shorter commutes, community connection, and time to recharge. Because sustainable careers in Rehabilitation require balance too. Apply today.
