Description
The Aboriginal Head Start Association of BC (AHSABC) is a non-profit society that works to
deliver quality early childhood programming that nurtures the healthy development and
growth of Indigenous children and their families through the Aboriginal Head Start (AHS)
model. This model supports children up to six years of age and their families to access
culturally appropriate early learning and childcare programs. AHS program models are
inclusive of wrap-around family support and offer a care model to support children with
diverse abilities and their families.
We are seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist with experience/preference working
with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The SLP will work with individual Aboriginal Head
Start childcare programs throughout BC to identify and learn the unique needs of children
within the various programs. Utilizing these insights, the SLP will provide direct support
with the children and families as well as supporting the Early Childhood Educators working
within the childcare program to gain skills and build strategies for support.
