Description

At the Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA), a not-for-profit agency serving children with diverse abilities and their families since 1974, our multidisciplinary/transdisciplinary teams are committed to evidence-based and best practices, innovation and collaboration. We have excellent facilities to host families on site as well as offering in-home and community-based visits. We are well supported by an active, dynamic board of directors and passionate and skilled leadership who are invested in the continuing growth and development of team members in the pursuit of excellence for families.

The Comox Valley is centrally located for many outdoor pursuits on the ocean, extensive trail networks and year-round activities at Mount Washington. The region offers a wide range of vineyards and local farms, a rich music, arts, sports and cultural calendar, and annual festivals that attract people from around the globe. Courtenay has a new state-of-the-art hospital, schools at all levels, as well as a North Island College campus, an aquatic centre, ice arena and various rec. facilities. The Comox Valley continues to attract a diverse population to its big city facilities yet maintains the small-town vibe for those who seek it. The busier southern tip of the island or the more remote wilderness of the northern tip are both within 3 hrs. drive, as are the waves of the west coast and access to the various gulf islands up and down the Salish Sea.

We have an opening for a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic innovative, collaborative, highly skilled and inclusive Early Intervention Therapy team working using family-centred, culturally sensitive and trauma informed practices to deliver services to children aged 0-5. Our well-equipped facilities in the stunning Comox Valley region are part of one of the largest child development centres on spectacular Vancouver Island. We are honoured to reside on the unceded traditional territories on the Pentlatch, E’iksan and K’όmoks First Nations. Flexible start date!
