Description

North Coast Community Services Society (NCCS) is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our dedicated, collaborative and close-knit team in Prince Rupert—a vibrant coastal community where natural beauty and outdoor adventure meet meaningful work.

Enjoy short, stress-free commutes, a lower cost of living compared to larger BC centres, and more time to focus on what matters—both professionally and personally.

From world-class fishing and wildlife viewing to hiking, skiing, paddling, and cultural experiences, Prince Rupert offers an exceptional lifestyle. With easy access to Haida Gwaii, Vancouver Island, and the Central Coast through BC Ferries, this is a unique opportunity to live and work in an inspiring setting.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works with children and youth experiencing communication challenges, including speech, language, and social communication delays or disorders.

Reporting to the Team Lead for Goal-Focused Services, you will:

  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized intervention plans
  • Support children and youth in achieving communication and developmental milestones
  • Address speech production, language development, and social communication needs
  • Recommend and support the use of assistive communication technologies and strategies
  • Promote successful participation in home, school, and community settings
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, schools, and community partners
  • Deliver services using culturally inclusive and trauma-informed approaches
  • Provide services across rural and remote communities, including Indigenous communities within the North Coast and Haida Gwaii region
  • Support regional service delivery, including virtual care options

We’re seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist who is committed to supporting children, youth, and families to thrive.

In this role, you will thrive if you:

  • Believe that every individual matters and bring empathy, humility, and respect to your work
  • Are passionate about helping children and youth reach their full communication potential
  • Demonstrate cultural humility and a commitment to working respectfully with Indigenous children, families, and communities
  • Are interested in or experienced with delivering services in rural and remote settings
  • Take a client- and family-centred approach
  • Build strong, professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
  • Are adaptable and open to learning new tools, including remote service delivery
  • Value culturally responsive and trauma-informed practice
  • Are committed to continuous learning, growth, and contributing to evolving community needs
