What Will You Work On?
The Early Childhood Development (ECD) SLP will work with children aged birth-to-school entry from a variety of cultural backgrounds and their parents/caregivers. The ECD SLP will engage in screening, assessment, intervention, coaching, & education in all areas of speech, language, & communication with this population. The ECD SLP will collaborate with other professionals from the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD), Ministry of Education (MoE), as well as local community organizations.
In this position the SLP will also provide outreach to the 100 Mile House area approximately one week per month. This is dependent on caseload needs in Kamloops and 100 Mile House. Travel from Kamloops to 100 Mile House Monday morning and returning Friday afternoon. All expenses covered by IH, IH vehicle, meals and accommodation.

How Will We Help You Grow?
We have a very collaborative team in Interior Health’s ECD SLP Program. The ECD SLP will receive support from the Professional Practice Leader (PPL), mentorship from ECD SLPs working on-site (this is only for Kamloops/Kelowna/Salmon Arm/Vernon) as well as 25 ECD SLP colleagues from across Interior Health. Professional development is also available.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an ECD SLP with experience/preference working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their caregivers. The ECD SLP will have excellent oral and written communication abilities & be able to connect with people from all types of backgrounds. The ECD SLP will be creative in supporting clients’ goals while adhering to program guidelines. The ECD SLP will be an active and engaged team member, able to respectfully communicate and resolve conflict in a timely manner. Qualifications • Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.
• Recent pediatric SLP experience is an asset.
